Hello! My name is Josh Treadway, and this is my portfolio.
I am a graduate of Guilford Technical Community College, where I majored in Entertainment Technologies: Concert Lights & Sound.
My journey in production began at Lebanon Baptist Church around 2012 when I started volunteering on the production team. In 2020, I was hired as an intern and eventually became the church’s Production Director.
Since stepping into this role, I’ve expanded my skillset beyond production and discovered a passion for graphic design. Over time, I’ve worked hard to improve my craft and now love creating custom graphics that bring ideas to life.
How I Got Into Ministry
When I first joined the production team, I immediately felt that production was God’s calling for my life. I never imagined it would lead me to college for concert lights and sound or an internship at my church as the Production Assistant.
One of my biggest passions is creating a worship environment with minimal distractions, allowing people to fully focus on God. Today, I still feel called to this mission, but I also feel that God has given me a second calling — graphic design — as another way to serve the church.
How I Got Started in Design
While volunteering in production, I noticed a need for someone to create graphics for church announcements. At the time, I was just playing around with Canva for fun. Then, when the church purchased Adobe Creative Cloud in 2018, I started experimenting with Photoshop.
By August 2020, the church staff had noticed my work and asked me to start creating all of our graphics. That’s when I discovered how much I enjoy the process of designing.
My Design Approach
Early on, I relied heavily on templates because I had no idea what I was doing. Over time, though, I realized that using templates too often can limit creativity. As I grew, I challenged myself to design from scratch, and now I take pride in creating custom graphics that reflect the unique personality of our church.
